FDISK is the MS-DOS utility used to create Disk Partitions. FORMAT handles the formatting of the Disk Partitions. FDISK supports the creation of Primary, Extended, and Logical Partitions. Logical Partitions and Primary Partitions can only be a maximum of 2GB under MS-DOS 6.22 or earlier, however, with Windows 95 and later, FDISK is capable of Large Volume Support, of up to 2TB per partition.
