There are two definitions of Console

The first is the Programmer's Console, or a Console Application. Within a complex program (Such as Half-Life 2), the console can be accessed, enabling the game's behaviour to be changed with a text command.

A Console Application is a Command-Prompt-Based Application whose sole input relies on keyboard entries.
